School is back in session, pumpkin spice lattes are back on the menu at Starbucks and the air is slowly beginning to cool (well, not in LA where it is still 90 degrees). It is time to cozy up and plan for the holiday season! It would not be fall without all of these things and of course, we did not forget about this season’s fashion trends! This fall, the fashion world is not only experimenting with new trends, but it is also taking inspiration from the past with an innovative spin on the iconic trends we have seen before.
The asymmetrical trend made waves last summer and fall but it looks like everyone’s favorite one-shoulder dresses and crop tops are here to stay. Fall 2019 will continue the edgy neckline trend which debuted on some of the biggest designer runways.
Leather always comes and goes out of style but this fall we are here to take an unconventional take on the classic textile. We have achieved the ‘leather look’ with a vinyl fabric (all of us LA girls love a faux material). This fall get ready for leather everything–pants, dresses and of course, outerwear.
Fall does not mean you have to strip your wardrobe of all color or restrict yourself to orange and red. This fall, dip into regal jewel tones–like fuchsia, teal and sapphire blue. Try a jewel-toned coat to add some excitement to your outfit or, go for a monochromatic jewel-toned look: dress, coat, and booties to match.
Plaid/ Preppy Vibes
High fashion runways debuting their fall 2019 collections featured structured clothing, strong silhouettes, and suiting. Bring this trend into your wardrobe with structured button-ups, blazers, and skirts. It seems that the ‘preppy-look’ is going to be trending this fall so get your hands on some plaid or dig up that old school uniform (it might fit, who knows).
Unless you have been living under a rock you would know that animal print has been absolutely everywhere this spring and summer. And I have some amazing news, it looks like fall 2019 will continue the trend. Make your leopard skirts and dresses wearable for winter by throwing on a black turtleneck, tights, and leather jacket. Or, get ready to invest in that leopard-printed faux-fur coat that you always knew you needed.
Chain Link Necklaces
This fall is all about the chunky gold jewelry, especially chain link chokers and necklaces. Take inspiration from designer runways by mixing and matching chain thickness, length, and color to add dimension to your look.
